Sarah Palin may easily help Obama win. Could McCain and his staff be so stupid as to believe the Republican base would over look this woman's flaws and failings? While I may be in the minority (although I doubt it) the following are the following reasons I believe McCain did the GOP a huge disservice by picking this woman as his running mate. Feminists cover your eyes.
1) She has little experience. Even VPs need just a little more experience, if with nothing else the national press. McCain just gave a plate of raw chicken thighs to a pond of crocodiles. Alaska is a great and beautiful state, but being mayor of a tiny town there and governor for 2 years hardly prepares you for the Beltway.
2) This woman is a complete disappointment as a mother. She's leaving her Downs Syndrome baby so she can be Vice President. It's one thing to follow your career when you have a kid at home (ala Bill & Hill during the AR years), but she's got 3 kids at home and one of them is mentally challenged. How can she possibly see this a good move for her kids? Perhaps she's not thinking about them.
3) Can we explore her judgement when having a fifth child at such a late age when she already had 4 healthy children? The risks are highly publicized. I'm just shocked at how a woman with so much responsibility would risk bringing an unhealthy child in the world when she knew what kind of pressures her job came with.
4) Finally, her lack of knowledge of effective birth control obviously was something she passed on because her teenage daughter is pregnant.
I had just gotten totally on board the McCain bus and now I feel like I've been thrown under it. He's completely undermined his entire campaign and I see this election being even closer than Y2K now.
I wish them luck and I will always believe McCain is a good man, who's made some bad choices. I am very sad to say that this year I'll be voting party, not man, just like in 1996. I'm looking forward to 2016, when hopefully Bobby Jindal will our guy.
